My favorites would be Keith Moon, Bill Ward, John Bonham, and Nicko McBrain. Out of that list, my favorite would probably be John Bonham. Hard choice between him and Keith Moon, though.
I've noticed that I tend to appreciate the pre-lay voice actors more, even when they're performing a dub. Not to say that I don't appreciate a nuraber of dub actors, some of whom I'm sure could transition into pre-lay voice work if they chose to do so.

He'd been dead for a while. Ol' Gene used an unreleased Zappa tape as the basis for one of the songs on the album. So there's that one.
As for the Dylan one... I can hear it. I can't explain it, but it does somehow make sense.
I dug out a bunch of CRAB I don't think I've listened to in well over a decade.
