Run, Fatboy, Run: Another British Comedy

I saw this when it came out and it was quite amusing. I adore Simon Pegg, and he is always funny, so I knew I'd enjoy it on some level. I don't think it was as good as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, but it was still a good lil' comedy. Pegg and Dylan Moran made a hilarious comedy duo, it's worth...

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: He's back! (spoilers)

I think this movie really is hit-or-miss. Alot of people hate the ending, but enjoyed the rest of it, whereas others surprisingly love the ending and that sci-fi aspect. Which is fair enough, I guess! Bella Grint - You have a good point about how the movie was true to events at the time, and...

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: He's back! (spoilers)

Exactly! And just the whole bit with the 13 (was it 13? I have a crap memory) aliens all joining to become one, and when the entire thing turned into a giant metal spacecraft and suddenly disappeared was...I don't want to say awful, but I was definitely disgruntled. They lost me there.

The Hulk: "You wouldn't like me when I'm... hungry" (spoilers)

I just squeed about this in the "last movie you saw" thread, but I saw this on the opening day and it was AWESOME. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as Iron Man (that was flawless), but it still lived up to my expectations. It had a good storyline, decent acting, awesome action, and was just so...

Ten Inch Hero - I Want Mine!

Urban~Goddess :back_hug: Thanks! And winchesterboyz, you are so welcome. I figured it was about time we had a thread about it, and hopefully, the more people that see it, the more that sign. Anything to help the cause ;) Seriously, it's beyond my understanding how stupid movies like Never Back...

Run, Fatboy, Run: Another British Comedy

Oh God yeah! I'd forgotten about that bit, but it was awful and definitely cringe-worthy  Also the bit when he's talking to Hank Azaria's character (can't remember his name right now) in the locker room, and he's standing in front of him in all his naked glory. I shuddered muchly on SP's...

    Cloverfield (J.J Abrams, Jan. 18, 2008)

Thanks for that link Nikki! That was a great read, and sums up why I loved the movie too  I totally didn't notice the Dharma symbol on the tape, but that's brilliant! Now I'm half-expecting to see it somewhere on the Enterprise, that'd be hilarious

This or That - Movie Board Version (READ THIRD POST) New Question 8/03

Once upon a time, I would've said buying, because I was in the habit of just buying lots of DVDs (I still am :P), but even ones that I hadn't seen though heard of, just to watch later. But now I'm all about the renting. I have a membership with LoveFilm, an online rental site, and I think it's...

    'Drag Me to Hell'

I'm surprised there hasn't been more interest in this, especially considering that this is Sam Raimi's return to horror. Where are all the crazy Evil Dead fans?! I haven't actually seen it yet (though I want to), but I heard it was very jumpy, gross but also hilarious in parts.

    Cloverfield (J.J Abrams, Jan. 18, 2008)

Exactly, which is my biggest problem with the sequel too. It just wouldn't have the same impact and be as effective if they decided to continue the story, and I think it'd take away from the originality and impact of the first one. Sure, we don't know why the monster was there, where it came...

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: He's back! (spoilers)

Yeah, they were really cute! My friend was so pleased about that she let out an audible "aaaw!" in the cinema when Indy said that the one thing wrong with the other women he'd been with was that they weren't her. It's a good line, it has to be said :sigh: I loved how everytime it looked like...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I saw the trailer for the first time yesterday, and it made me totally excited for this film! I think it looks good, and the potential is there for it to be great, so I'm holding out hope that it will be, and that it doesn't disappoint - David Yates is directing this too, and he did the last...

    I Am Legend (Spoilers)

Also the cure takes time to work. It didn't work straightaway on the female, but after a couple of days, and at the time of Sam being turned, Neville didn't know that, so he thought killing her before she fully turned evil was the best thing to do.

Movies so boring, they made you fall asleep! Take #3

Mona Lisa Smile bored me to death when I saw that. The only reason I watched it was because I'd skipped school that day and it was the only thing on in the afternoon (I think I saw Stuck On You in the morning), but seriously, school would have been the more fun alternative to that film.

The High Price of Theater Going

It's funny that this thread has been brought back because a friend and I were recently talking about how ridiculously expensive cinema prices are nowadays. The average price for an adult ticket here is £6-£7, (which I think is double in the amount of dollars), and which is just rubbish...

This or That - Movie Board Version (READ THIRD POST) New Question 8/03

:lmao: That's hilarious! I don't blame them, I probably would've done the same thing :P I think I prefer smaller crowds, though generally, if it's a packed cinema, it won't matter that much to me. I like big crowds because hearing other people's reactions can be really funny, and being a part...

Ten Inch Hero - I Want Mine!

That's so awesome! :slinkie: A very good result for Europe  Though I'm miffed it's not out here (UK) yet, but I'm hoping that if it does well in those countries, that means others will consider getting it in too.

    'Drag Me to Hell'

Oh hun  Don't be ashamed, 'cos me neither! I just mean, it's one of those cult classics everyone knows about, I just figured there'd be more excitement. But ah well.

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: He's back! (spoilers)

R2Roswell - Wow, I hadn't quite realised that so much of the movie was based on actual mythology. That's pretty cool! Thanks for the information, and for the record, I don't think you're sad to be that into it, if that's what you like, then fair enough. But I still don't like the aliens angle...

    'Drag Me to Hell'

 I know, right? It's still out here, if I can find someone to go with, I might see it since I'll get in for free anyway, but otherwise, DVD is fine for me. At least then I can watch it in the comfort of the home and hide behind numerous pillows/covers.
