Brainiac are amazing, I didn't really get them at first either but they're now one of ma favs.

I don't like to believe any specific music genre has "values" that are associated with it, hopefully. Besides, you seem to be comparing different genres to begin with. No one thinks of Avril and Maroon 5 in the same sense as Zeppelin or Nirvana.
