Explosions in The Sky is far from a jam band. Their songs are structured like symphonic rock movements, not loosely arranged free-for-all jams. Pelican's newest effort is pretty close to EITS. A little heavier, and a little looser, but close.

I listen to both on occasion and think they are similar. I think it is said that Muse mentions Radiohead as their influence or something. I like Muse better but that's only because I've spent more time listening to them.
