I think this was a Bond film for people like me - who liked the books and short stories, but rather disliked the daftness of the majority of films (Bond was never supposed to be a nice guy). That does, of course, mean that it will lose people who like the daft films, but for me, it's nice to see...

I like the film, but hate the tacked on bit at the end with old Tom Hanks (i know it's not Tom Hanks!) explaining how he might be almost immortal. It should have end after John Cofe's execution. That was one of the most emotional scens I've ever seen. I cried and cried.
