They never said they were going to release uncuts. They said that they would "consider it." Madman of Australia said they would, but never got an uncut version from 4KiRAB, so they couldn't. I don't believe for a second 4KiRAB ever considered releasing uncut DVRAB.

Yes. But as a genre tag it means "in the style that is popular" not "this band is popular". Wikipedia has a good description of pop music, "Pop music as a genre features a noticeable rhythmic element, melodies and hooks, a mainstream style and conventional structure."
