The Ring Signs 8 Mile All hashed together, and it was pretty good/funny i thought. Although if i'm right (which i think i am it was only 80 mins.... which is extreamely short Still, the Jacko jokes were funny, the little dude kept getting injured, which was funny, the "wake" scene was brilliant :D

Haute Tension is excellent, if you liked the film check out the book Intensity by Dean Koontz, good book. Starts similar but totally different for the rest of the story. Wolf Creek isn't VERY GORY... but it's still disturbing, very good horror film, want to check out the director's next film...

The musical is absolutley brilliant. So I hope so.

I think we expect too much of these modern films these days. Best to turn your brain off or leave it athe door before you enter the cinema these days. When we tire (I already have!) of this modern 'throw away' movie style, I'm sure they'll get back to good old fashioned story telling!

I think the problem was that the humour in TP books relies heavily on the narration - it's where 80% of the jokes lie. Without that "voice" (such as the sort of thing the TV version of Hitchhiker's Guide had) no adaptation is going to be anywhere near as funny as the books.

Reading that it seems some people did actually at first think it was part of the experience! :eek:

saw it this week and thought it was excellent. was similar in tone to the recent BBC drama occupation, but a bit more focused on the job at hand in Iraq, rather than using it as a backdrop to any narrative as such. what i thought came across very well was that it was just about the situation...

I'd say The Terminal is the only one of those that truly counts as mediocre (I haven't seen Munich); the rest of them were all fine for what they were - and A.I. Artificial Intelligence is one of his most underrated movies.

Silent Running.....? I like the film, though I don't see it as a tear jerker for men. That said I was a little sad when the astronaut explained to the other robots that Huey / Duey / Luey was gone..... I also like the theme music to the film, even though it's a little sad...though I'm not sure...
