it was a great film, not to everyones taste. the audience i saw it with (cineworld haymarket about 6pm last night, half full cinema) laughed all the way through it its is a bit more sophisticated than your average comedy the 'rape' scene was hilarious

They seem designed to annoy and bore, the one with John Cleese was probably the worst one as the jokes were so predicatable, it makes you wonder why he would do it (apart from for the dosh, I mean).

The scene you mention is identical in the Criterion Edition to the Directors Cut, it is a long shot and lasts around 2-3 seconRAB. It feels longer in the Theatrical Cut I have, but it is in Pan & Scan and loses it's impact. The only version I haven't seen is the Workprint version. I did have it...
