You need the par2's if you are missing blocks. Most uploaders upload them but not always. Not sure about altbinz, but newsleecher will automatically download the par2's that it needs and repair it. As long as they are in the queue. (I believe altbinz can too but dont quote me) And yes...

I assume they go through all the options in order to stretch the programme from 5 mins to 25/30 mins thats why we get so much waffle. I must admit I do watch the programme but wont admit to being a drooling cabbage. :D
