I watched it a few days ago and ignoring all the historical inaccuracies it was one of the most depressing films I had ever seen. I have never cried during a film (apart from when I was 6 and watched Batman Forever or Returns, that bloody Penguin!) but it got me very close.

It's always films where you don't see much that are the most frightening (I'm not including Blair Witch in that because it was mostly crap, apart from the screaming right at the end which no-one could find not freaky in some way!) I know the whole film itself isn't scary, but the part in Close...

I watched a nice one on Sunday called 'Laura', starring a young Vincent Price and the absolutely stunning Gene Tierney. It was a good film - nicely paced and had a good cast. Would recommend Gene Tierney is / was breathtakingly beautiful :)

I hang on to all my DVD's, even the freebies that come with the paper. You never know when you might want to watch one.

Personally, I'd avoid No Country For Old Men, quite possibly one of the worst films I've seen for a while - or at least save it til last. Talk To Her on the other hand is an amazing film but if you're a Almodovar novice you might want to try All About My Mother first before seeing Talk To Her.
