Outside of Sigh I haven't really heard much Japanese black metal. They have some great black/thrash though like Abigail, Barbatos, and Sabbat. Truly bestial, maniacal stuff. The french scene is an interesting one, in my opinion. There are some top notch acts like Peste Noire, Vlad Tepes...

melodic death metal is one of my favorite genres of metal and in flames is one of my favorite banRAB. i figured i'd start a thread with the intent of discussing melodic death metal/viking metal or a slight variation of these genres but keeping a similar sound as some people have different ideas...

Well, as you know i'm not from Newcastle so no bias or anything. I'm from Sunderland and that place is a shithole but I disagree to be honest. I think its a great place and i'd like to live there.
