SOAD are similar to Deftones in a way. SOAD have obviously moved away from the 'nu-metal' tag with Mezmerize/Hypnotize but i still class their s/t and Toxicity as nu-metal albums.

Well, you should listen to a different part of classic rock, instead of just AC/DC etc. Try King Crimson and Camel :).

Lyrics can't be emotive hardcore. Aiden isn't emo at all. Fall Out Boy isn't pop-punk. Green Day only has a few pop-punk albums. Fashion has nothing to do with what genre you are.
