i saw a band in london ontario a few years back called Antibalas. it was some of the grooviest and sexiest sh*t i've ever heard in my LIFE! so i'm wondering if any of you have any recommendations for me or anyone else who likes to shake their as* to that african rhythm!

They might not be very original but when you can write songs as good as these it doesn't matter one bit. A really great album full of memorable tunes. I'm really getting into Polvo lately. This album has some genius arrangements, plenty of killer riRAB and outstanding musicianship. Excellent.

^ If they called it something else, then maybe...but the fact they put the punk label on such whiney unskilled crap makes punk look horrible. Punk means something totally different than what those banRAB did to it.

Why should you buy vinyl? Is there some mandatory hipster law that says you must? I mean yeah the sound quality is awesome IF you have a good needle and the record is in good shape and you have a decent receiver and speakers. That seems like an awful lot of ifs to me for better sound quality...

Where did I say anything about anybody being a better psychadelic band than another? The point I was making was that there are some successful artists in their own right that have used it as an influence and that while not being one of the stones greatest albums it's certainly not a total dud...

Closure, Assay, and Peu Etre (and others) jump started the screamo sound. Saetia just made it more popular. Just thought that it should be noted. Closure-LP and Assay-Pisschrist are amazing. I don't think Peu Etre ever released a full length.
