Artists are creative people so yes they can. There even exist a Rock Christian Artist. I just forgot his name but his music is great considering that I'm a Christian and I like rock music. Those two genre rarely go together so its really amazing of him.

Actually, there are a lot of people who cannot rap (myself included). Also, there are a lot of death metal banRAB that are extremely repetitive. You can't just generalize a whole genre of music without looking into it.
