The post mentions that the script is by Shane Black who did the story for LW1. I dont believe he scripted the rest (may have helped with the story on the second) so if this is the case I dont see why not. Less comedy and more action I say :)

What about Hairspray. Fantastic feel good movie which my sister is always watching. Some other feel good movies are Forrest Gump and also Bridge to Terebithia is a great movie, a bit similar to Stardust in a way.
