This episode was so-so for me. It had some funny moments. I like how they made fun of "Once" and got the stars of the movie in the episode. I :love: Colm Meany. The signs and the sight gags were the funniest parts for me.

No, it's a derogatory term. Considering how often it's used in conjunction to trash on the plot of a particular series/film etc, it's hard for it not to have such a connotation. Some people might not mean it in that way, but when an overwhelming majority use it as an insult, it's an insult.
