Thanks for that, I'll try it when I've reinstalled XP (AGAIN, damn NIS crap). And I'll try it on linux tonight. :lol: Edit: it's a total lemon, locked up my linux system almost immediately.

Lots of things affect how long a particular wu takes, not just the number of steps. You may have a very simple molecule with 1000 steps, or a very complex molecule with the same number of steps. Obviously there are a lot more ways a complex molecule can fold, so the process takes much longer...

Well i completed my 50th WU and meanwhile my modem resets... Everytime i start Folding@Home and click the icon to see the animation it crashes. And i mean every time. I'm using the latest Fah for about a week orso and never had any problems. It runs but i just can't click the icon anymore...
