you're right - in the film he walks out whilst Snape is still tending to Draco whereas in the book he is so upset he can barely move. Snape tells Harry to fetch his school bag and so that Snape doesn't find the book hides it in the room of requirement, Snape doesn't believe Harry when he shows...
Though I've always liked this entertaining bit of nonsense, the acting skills of any replacement for Barney Bee, would seem by comparison, like those of Laurence Olivier.
