    The Hobbit

Many thanks for your reply, but I confess the 'real' reason seems just like the first one to me--the limitations are imposed arbitrarily for the sake of the story. I'd love to see a good film made about 'The Hobbit', because it also seemed to me a better candidate for a movie than LOTR, because...

Titanic was such a fantatsic movie...

Imagine if they'd done an alternate ending, and the ship nicely sailed off to America. 3 hours of utter crap that'd be. At least we got a 30 minute bit worth watching. I think every time it's on TV, the ratings must be a lot higher for the last half hour than the rest of it.

Matt Damon's "view" on James Bond

Daniel Craig does plenty of that in the new films. He also cracks wise as of old only far more wittily than the "Carry On" style gags employed by Moore & successors. The only thing really lacking from the old days is invisible cars & glacier destroying lasers. & that's firmly in Austin Powers...

    The Simpsons Movie on DVD

it's finally arrived and the deleted scenes are sooo short, why they were not 'branched' is beyond me. as I suspected I found the film funnier on the tv than at the cinema, for one thing it's shown on the correct ratio. the prof. fink gag now works, when I saw it at the cinema, they had the...

HALLOWEEN 2 (remake) First Casting News!

I think the trouble with Zombie is that he's more atuned to hillbilly horror. He could have done a kickass Texas Chainsaw Massacre but was totally wrong for Halloween which is set in the suburbs.

    Best Horror Movie Ever

There have been some classics mentioned in this thread! Now horror is my fave genre and I could talk about it for hours, VERY surprised no one has mentioned ROSEMARY'S BABY - up there with the Exorcist and The Omen, IMO. If you haven't seen it, rent a copy - truly spine-tingling. Also THE...

    The Last Exorcism

I thought it was quite a clever little film too. I liked how what happened to the preacher and the camera crew is exactly what was shown in Nell's pictures on her bedroom wall and is how the film ended.

    Batman forever- what crap!

Christian Bale is the the New batman isn't he? The problem with all other none Tim Burton associated Batmans is, at the helm are people that think they are making an action movie.

    Most over-rated films

Troy...their accents didn't match, the story was no way near the "real" myth and I don't like Brad pitt he is over rated (we should have an 'overrated actors and actresses thread) Spiderman 1...i slept off half way through and i couldn't get my money back from the cinema no matter how much I begged
