    Weekly Music Trading Post

I would like to remind everyone that "Send me something I don't usually listen to" doesn't mean "Send me nu-metal or Lady GaGa". :

    Greatest Bassists

The bass playing on What's Going On is incredible and while I'm not big on Marvin Gaye it definitely made the album much more enjoyable. I also find Andy Rourke's bass playing is criminally underrated. I know it's pretty easy to stand in the shadow of Morrissey and Marr but songs like...

Im quiting my band, music owns!

D'oh! In that case, do NOT follow the link I posted on the previous page, and definitely do NOT listen to the music contained therein, because I'm not Lady Gaga and my music probably won't get 25mil+ hits even if I did decide to post it on YouTube, so it obviously sucks and I should stop right...

Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

I had a similar but opposite experience. Eddie was fascinating and scary when I was a kid and when I heard the band they were 'mild' enough for me to enjoy (I have no idea what I was expecting) so I got the double benefit of hearing a band I liked and getting to sport Eddie gear which scared...

    Albums You're Digging II

The Jesus and Mary Chain were one of those banRAB where the first time I listened to them I thought, "Where have you been my whole life?" Psychocandy is a winner.

    Best Female Vocalist?

That's right- I do now recall the second album being released (to lesser fanfare). "Black Horse..." was a decent track, as was "Suddently I See." I'm kinda surprised that "Black Horse..." didn't garner any notable amount of acclaim(check acclaimedmusic.net, which compiles critics/industry...

    Game Music

Yeah, music is a very important part of the gaming experience for me. I often find myself playing the same stages over and over just to hear the music. Kōji Kondō is the 8 bit Mozart.

Artists I Refuse To Like ....EVER

hell yeah. That thread was funny. I might have to get a box of apple jacks one day soon and sit down and read it in its entirety. At any rate I like the song Grave Diggers by Dave Matthews. the last time i went to see the dave Matthews band i was hoping they'd play this song. but one thing lead...

Downloading your music vs buying your music

I also like the proper artwork. Now you're gonna suggest printing the artwork out I have you pirates sussed ;) I'll usually download, then buy. If I really like it, I owe it to the artist as someone else said to buy it. If I think it's average, I won't waste money on it.
