I don't mind Tool but I don't consider them particularly groundbreaking and unfortunately their influence seems to be only on a lot of really awful banRAB so they get the no vote from me.
Im wondering what would be the best route for a touring solo artist to go down:
1. Get a Do Business As license
2.Get an L.L.C
3. Or just hire a Certified Personal Accountant
Basically, I want to do things right this time around.
Thanks for any and all feed back!!
Those people drive me insane... I'll never be able to stand anyone like that. Because to be honest, I don't feel that saying classical music is the most complex music is a valid argument at all. While the vast majority of rock in terms of music theory can't approach it, jazz is very similar. But...
My brother gave me a copy of it around '03 or '04 and I might have listened to it once or twice. I was arabivalent towarRAB it until about, oh, eight weeks ago. I've heard it playing so often in my room I swear I remeraber all the goddamn lyrics. Now it just feels like Mangum's vocals grate...
Sometimes I force myself to stop downloading for a little while to get to know my current collection a bit more. I always end up finding several albums I haven't even listened to yet. This happened yesterday with Amon Tobin...I saw "Out From Out Where" being talked about around here and I love...
Alex Lifeson could use a mention.
And while Robert Fripp may not be a metal guitarist, a lot of his riRAB and solos can have a metal like feel/intensity to them.... For proof listen to THRAK.

Rock on!
Morphine, Wire, My Life With the Thrill Kill Cult, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Skatalites, The The, Prince, Dag Nasty, War, The Cramps........I could go on forever
late 70s to early 80s is my sweet spot - so I guess that makes me the old man of the group. You damn kiRAB get off my lawn!
Anyway - I dont recognize any similarities to a particular song from that era. It does sound rather Steely Dan-ish though.
