    Albums You're Digging II

An early Grindcore classic although it is a little polished in parts. Not a patch on their classic debut but still essential Ska and it has one of my Specials fave tracks 'Do Nothing'. One of the best 'pure' Ska albums I have heard for ages. Cool as a cucuraber and immensly toe tapping...

Spill Your Guts II: What You Think About MB Members' Taste In Music

I think the person with the most mysterious taste in music to me is Freebase. I have no idea what areas his taste goes to. I know he likes IDM and Deftones, but other than that he could be totally into New KiRAB On the Block for all I know. What I do know is that every time he throws me a rec...

    Grave digger

If I had to choose, then possibly some of the rather sad deaths like recent Brian Delp's (Boston's old singer) recent suicide .. Badfinger is another band with a couple of suicides more or less because of troubles they had with the music industry, but it's still sort of part of their legend ...

Which Of The Following Romanticized Eras Was Your Favorite?

Lots of great stuff in the 90s from many different genres. It's practically my favorite decade for music, probably because I was in high school and college during that decade.

What genre of music do you own the most of?

I'm not sure but I'll say this: When I was converting my whole CD collection to MP3s a couple years ago I was absolutely shocked by how much metal I owned. I've never thought of myself as a metalhead at all but, at least at that time, I owned way more metal than any other genre.

Does music have the capacity to change the world?

I've been grappling with this issue for a while now and I think the answer is rather arabiguous. I'd like to hear other people's views on the matter, because it's certainly a discussion worth hearing. I'm not talking about within the music community; e.g. psychedelia on hippies, but a broader...

    Last FM

Bit difficult to do a search for this, so we'll see if this dies a horrible, painful death. Basically, you download the plugin for whichever media player you use to play stuff on your PC, and it keeps a log of everything you play. Only music, for all those who enjoy a little porn, no need to...

    rock gurus

I heard a good song on the radio but dont really know what its called. I only caught maybe the second half of it. There were only drums and no other instruments. It would go from heavy drumming to silence where the singer would say something and then back to heavy drumming. Anybody know...

    Is Remixed Music Art?

The funny thing about technical virtuosity is that many supposed virtuosos are rarely consistantly creative anyway, if at all. (John Petrucci, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai being texbook examples; they're all fairly excellent guitar players, but how much of what they do is memorable beyond an album...

What kind of music do thing 60's musicans would have made on ecstasy?

i dont think so. i think if e was around, or more readily availible then there would be even more impressive lavalamp designs now and other wild assed lights that we cant even comprehend. glow sticks are so lifeless and seem like chemical garbage. i find that all the things associated with e...
