Yes, if it's for your iPod you might as well just rip your own DVRAB and transfer them over. It's as redundant as UMRAB for your PSP.

Just breathe in more before you do it. It comes out louder if its lower for me. And yes amplifiers will help. However, a lot of banRAB have vocals very low in the mix (see IWSMOFFY) so it won't make much of a difference if you go in that direction.
