I don't know about the other programmes, but in Phex, Gnucleus and Shareaza you can change the portnumber. Hoever you need the adresses from other clients with a different portnumber to get connected to, Phex has a handy portfilter

The most important thing to use emule is that you need to open the ports 4662 for TCP and 4672 for UDP. If the firewall blocks these ports, you won't get excellent download speeds. Once both of the ports are opened, you will get high ID.

Films can always be remade, batman is a good example. Hell in that case both burtons and the newer one are good. I'm not sure why it matters, it doesn't cost you anything for them to try.
