I agree they are all great. Though I think Symphony X, which is one of my favorite banRAB, is more progressive metal than power metal. So, out of the four listed I'd say Iced Earth is the best power metal band.

i love 'em anyway. sure they kinda suck now. but they were good back in the day. their old stuff is awesome.

At the Gates have one decent album, namely "Slaughter of the Soul," and it was fun playing drums to. But like all metal (besides prog of course) it gets boring fast. And I obviously don't blame you for not understanding - if your brain power was at the same level of mine, you'd understand...

The guy on the other board mentioned he had "tried to avoid the hype" so I immediately thought Pitchfork must be involved. Sure enough, they reviewed the album and it scored 8.2 I think. That might explain...

In all the years of listening to them, I never noticed the O should be an E. But then again I don`t listen to them that often anymore.

New Weird America is pretty cool. And there's probably more good underground hip-hop artists from the US. I'm not sure exactly what the ratio is in terms of post-rock... those are the big three genres I stay on top of in terms of new artists, so I guess I would consider the US ahead at the moment.

Patton is a great vocalist. Probably one of the best out there. I don't always like all his projects but the man sure is creative. He just put out a new record "Mondo Cane" full of italian songs. Interesting to say the least. And he's a good performer. He puts on a lively show.

I've seen The Pick Of Destiny, and it was really stupid. Honestly the only funny part was Beezleboss.
