I watched this yesterday. I probably would have been put off watching it for the same reason if it hadn't been rated 5 stars and starred Edward Norton, who I really like. As you say, it turned out to be excellent, especially early on. The fighting was pretty brutal though.

I don't think they put a foot wrong from about the mid point when the plot kicked in. An absolutely absurd amount of fun. However, I'm not sure Edgar quite got the tone right in the first half. I found the length perfect, but there have been a lot of comments about the sound, and I do think...

i have got predator1 and 2 on dvd and i got all the alien movies. i felt predator 2 wasnt that brill the first predator is much better. i know what you mean they could have used a better slogan for alien vs predator.

One solution to all this might be to go in the afternoon . I went to a screening of "Sunshine" at 1.30 on a weekday and I was the only one in! Having the whole screening to myself was a bit strange but its one way to become totally absorbed with the viewing. And absolutely no interruptions.
