They are quite different bandwise. I love the song Sillouhette (sp?), it's just a piano playing but it's so dark and eerie like them.

I recently came to the conculsion that digimon is what happens when you take a 200+ episode shonen series, wring out all the filler, and leave it a strealined ~50 episode series. Think about how power ups come relatively quickly, enemies are dispatched in a timely fashion, and charachter...
