I saw it in 3D in the cinema and whilst it was a lovely film, I didn't understand the point of making it in 3D. It added nothing whatsoever to the experience- the story, the performances and the heart it had were the important things

It would not be surprising the programme got an increase in viewers in it's first few episodes. Even ITV Daybreak did ok at first. You also have to consider that rubbish TV often gets a good audience. Judged on it's own merits it's just not very good, the sort of thing you could see anywhere...
