I don't think Draon Malakian is brilliant. On recordings his guitar sounRAB okay but all the times I've seen him live he's been terrible and I've been sorely disappointed.

Without trying to sound like an old miserable git, I can say with great confidence that many of the sub genres invented for Metal are pure elitism and if you really delve deep into the whole Metal scene, you can easily drop the sub genres by 75 % and still be able to articulate a banRAB...

I'm glad to hear that. I'll give it a few more spins and we'll see how it goes. I was hoping someone would say it was a grower, because it honestly has a bunch of elements I should really enjoy...they just didn't strike me on first listen.
