TV channels censoring films in the middle of the *night* - WTF ?!

I once remember watching Crocodile Dundee and they edited one of the famous lines to "well, you can eat it, but it tastes like dung." Assumedly, this must have been done by the studio, as it had the actual actors and it wasn't a dub (ie. you could see their lips moving and it wasn't dubbed over...

Women = Men in action films?

Sarah Connor did behave in a kind of masculine way, but she had to in order to survive. Ripley was very much a female heroine, and her female characteristics remained throughout. In Aliens she doesn't really start kicking butt until she has to save Newt, and then it becomes very much about the...

    Downton Abbey - ITV1

I do not think Downton would be as interesting if set in a country home in 2010 - so I assume that is the reason that they set it in 1912. They did not set out to create an historical re-enactment but a drama. As for getting the period "right" no contemporary drama gets even its own period...

    Law Abiding Citizen

I saw this with some mates last night and about half the group thought it was great whilst the other half, including myself, were a tad underwhelmed. A good solid action thriller but I found it a little too predictable and derivative tbh 6/10
