I cracked it! There is a app called LEAP Wifi that you can dwnload (free version too) that will allow you connect to a LEAP wireless network. Tested it there and it works a treat.

ActiveX -- just say no. If you're buying into an Android device (an open OS/API), you definitely shouldn't be wanting to cripple and encumber it with a closed technology, which ActiveX is (proprietary Microsoft junk).
