Yeah prog covers are usually either really good or really bad. Octopus has an awesome cover, and I dunno why but I like that weird giant they have for a mascot too. But then there's this. WTF Kickass album though.

I was listening to Attack of The Grey Lantern today so that sparked me off. Individual tracks were not as strong as the first but their was some great sections on it. Shame they got lost in the whole britpop scene as they were something else entirely.

good list, especially Cannibal Ox (for me it was Company Flow). So what the hell is 'surface indie'? Like just under the mainstream but with enough clout to keep from being submerged into the underground?

I agree that it's more along the lines of "fake" punk then anything else, but IMO there are some legitamatley good skate-punk songs, but most of skate punk band's discographies as a whole are lacking.
