I saw this on BBC1 the other night, it's the first film i've ever seen that started out really crap with poor acting, then halfway through it bizarrely improved drastically and I really enjoyed it. And i'm a 25 yo male if that matters, as it's clearly a chick flick.

You could take him to an audiologist. If he's had this problem since he was a baby, I doubt that much can be done at this point other than make sure he's seated at the front of the classroom and that his teachers are aware of the deafness. Perhaps if there is no cure, he could learn to read...
