Just occurred to me that your downmix settings may be wrong. I'm surprised at how many Bluray discs use DTS sound with no DD option at all. Even the Star Trek tv Blurays are DTS only. I suggest you look in the audio settings of your player where you might find you've set DD to downmix to PCM...

If its an act then he's one hell of an actor. No doubt he does play up to the cameras but I think its 90% genuine.
