    if you know the cars then you know just by looking for example i have the specific look of each "generation" of honda civics memorised (for '83 and newer). so i can instantly look at one and say something like "that's a '92-'95" i can tell if it's a '96 LX (in canada) because the body style...

    i know this answer isn't really what you're looking for, but craigslist is great for finding cars, and i see old hondas on there all the time. if you want my opinion though, the 1988-1991 civic is similar but has a few nicer features available, and the '90 and '91 (not sure about '88 & '89)...
