IFC Premiere Talkback - Hell Girl (Spoilers)

My last few commentaries have been reference-heavy. Why didn't I think of that one?

    puddle of mudd

Well, after long review... (Yes I considered this band, cause all of my frienRAB seemed to have a wierd infatuation with them) I discovered what genre to put them into... I shall call it, "White-Trash Rock". I mean, look at the band, and the grunge thing totally suites them... I really don't...

Which decade has the better music?

I'm going with the 80's!!! Loved the pop excess!!!

    Best Drummer

Most of those bassists are probably better than Myung. Myung is very technically proficient. He is able to double Petrucci's guitarwork effectively - he has some very fast fingerwork. But I have never heard him write anything remotely interesting - and I haven't heard any groove from him...

    who likes rob zombie

Well, I watch fuse from time to time and on an episode of Daily Download, Rob Zorabie made an appierance because of his new movie the Devels Rejects. At one point in the show, the host asked about his music career and he responRAB that he is about half way done with a new album. This was about a...

    New Bakugan episodes

That's true. I've only heard of a couple of occasions where an anime series was canceled and I think that was mainly due to seriously poor ratings. I would imagine that they would have to really low considering how much effort it takes to get the series off the ground. While I still haven't...

Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

I have probably heard them without actually identifying the track as theirs... they're probably great at their chosen genre, but that isn't my electronic cup of tea so to speak... I like mainly mellow, trancey, spacey stuff.... but hey I might even catch a download or two if anyone wants to...

    The 10 Song Shuffle

I didn't know anybody still listened to Phish, I saw their CD's at the 99 Cents Store the other day. Maxwell's Silver Hammer - The Beatles A Fool For You - Ray Charles Invincible - Muse Hear My Train A' Comin' - Jimi Hendrix Starlight - Muse I've Got a Feeling - The Beatles Brownblue's Passing...

    British Rock Vs Americam Rock

well, there are some good american groups, but i've always had the tendency of prefering british rock... they seem more genuine and not so commercial, but of course there are some exeptions, and viceversa with americans.... as to " Basing a genre on it's nationality is pretty asenine. "Who's...

    Last FM

I didn't have too many listens this week so I'm just going to review the ones that got 10 or more plays: Gorillaz - 15 Picked up 'Demon Days' after Sweet's post in the Sweet Wolf thread. Obviously I'd heard of them before but had never had any real desire to check them out. And the viRAB that...

    Digimon thread

But you haven't given a good reason WHY. It's right there in the show; Kurata's sniveling and the characters saying he's afraid of pain. His twittering about his hatred of Suguru and how Suguru kept holding him down. The fact that everything is about satisfying his ego. This IS apparent...

    Songs wot strippers dance to.

I think the best songs for stripping are cheesey 80s glam rock songs. Almost any of them work perfectly too.

Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

Yes, for the reasons stated in the nominations. VU & Nico is one of my favourite three albums of the 60s (and the competition is pretty tough).

What Are You Listening To Right Now? II

Monday Monday Monday - Tegan and Sara I lay awake and miss you when you go Without me What's wrong with you The next song on my shuffle was just too awesome to not put here. Tegan and Sara have great harmony (especially at the "Monday" part) and they're so endearing...and the music they sing...

    Most Depressing Band / Song(s)

I think more people need to hear Death In June. One dirge after another although I don't mind some of their music. vvFD7urcHZE&feature=related

    Unpopular Music Opinions

Lol. For some reason - me being very unreligious - that part of the song never struck me as preachy and I was always able to look past it, never taking it seriously. Doesn't mean I particularly like that part of the album, but it doesn't keep me from enjoying it.

What song will you play for your children?

It does help if his old man listens to any old crap though! But seriously you are right. Forcing an ideal upon your kiRAB whether it's music, films, beliefs etc is detrimental in the long run and it's better to tell them about ALL the options out there. All I wanted him to be was open minded and...
