I like them a lot, as well as Kyuss, and the Desert Sessions CRAB are awesome too, all worth checking out if you like that stoner rock sound. I'm not sure how I feel about the new QOTSA single, "Sick Sick Sick" though - It's getting heavy play on Sirius though which is nice.
Is not fully out yet, however, they have released a promo to sate our whetted appetites. You can find it at Siege Music! Why? Because we rule!
Siege Music
but seriously, check out the promo, it's awesome stuff. Plus, I know SM has been kinda dead lately, but things are changing many more posts...
Symphony X, Dark Tranquility, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Nightwish, Evergrey, Kalmah, As I lay dying, Hammerfall, Sinergy, Dredg, Death, Soilwork, Children Of Bodom, Nevermore, Skyfire...
Found it! It's called "Ain't my job". You can go out and grab the new CD hefty fine released on sept 13, or if you're really desperate to hear it, just search it where you get all of your other music.
If you don't think women should attend metal concerts, then you are even more homoerotic than the average metal fan, and that's saying quite a lot.
Overall, it's the pseudo machoness of most heavy metal that really turns me off.
Seconded.
You don't have to be on a pretensious "high horse" to say that Axl Rose is sh*t.
My neighbor is a diehard GNR fan, and he can't stand Axl. When he saw them he said Axl was the biggest prick and left in the middle of the show. What a great frontman
I think that The Mars Volta seems more evolved maybe seems that Cedric and Omar may have felt held back a little in their old band....Both are good Volta is great....the guitars and vocals mesh together almost as one intense voice...I enjoy the Mars Volta greatly.
1 - that's cool and all but not well presented through the topic title. are you looking to define it in modern terms? or define it based on the originators? from the style perspective (sabbath) or from the use of the term (hendrix / steppenwolf)? there's really no ground to stand on to...
Is it possible we could see a second mod revival? With the indie scene practically dead, it could be an escape route for many musicians. Another way, such as seen in Pete Dorothy, is an erabrace of poetry from the romantic period and an attempt to fuse it with rock music.
If artists like Elliott Smith get in, then the hall of fame will just become "Artists that some people on rab like" and we will have like 500 artists in there.
