Devil Driver (although they aren't really black metal) THis band is sweet I have their self titled album and the next 1 looks sweet. Listening to "Hold Back the Day" from their newest Cd wich hasn't been released yet, I think it hasn't.

Well, I downloaded some Explosions In The Sky. I liked it a lot, particularly the second track. I think I'll do some blogsearches for more post-rock.

None of those songs are epics, really. Epics are basicly lenthy songs, with multiple parts, not just a simple verse-chorus-verse kind of thing.

When I was in elementary school the book of fairy tales had Rapunzel's beau getting his eyes gauged out. Now that seems ghastly, but I'm sure people would protest the removal of Grimm's tales from the library.

In a way this list is oddly predictable in an obscure kind of way. Lot's of amazing albums.

Hahaha watch Wu-Tang and King Crimson and Elliot Smith get nominated and not Radiohead. I think thats my only real problem with this board. The above scenario taking place doesn't even suprise me because everyone's worried about voting for a band everyone likes. Well fuck that. I voted yes...

Listening to Ghosts I - IV by NIN right now... very interesting stuff! Very much enjoying the quite mellow, broody but quite atmospheric sound... definitely something that will bear repeated listens...

Well, I'm more interested in conducting a youth symphony orchestra, maybe a once-a-week-for-a-few-hours thing, while my main job is something like a music teacher. So, given that its a youth orchestra I don't think the standarRAB would be quite as high as something like the berlin philharmonic...

mariraba jam 2 and mcdonald's are two of my new favorite songs. anyone interested in some solid indiemo should definately check monument out. i'm old school with the cassette, but the jams are epic. newest shit from storm the bastille is heavy heavy and i love it.

Both fantastic albums. Chthonic is probably my favorite black metal band...something about the erhu just works perfectly with the music. Indigenous Lacerations is still their best, but this album is good. Behemoth is just always good.

Never been to one :( but i will be going to Iron Maiden in June so that should be a start.
