I'd hardly say a large portion of rap is crap. But yeah anyway... I'm not really affected too much by this stuff. Of course if there is a female vocalist involved it hits me in a different way than a male would, but that usually wears off after a while and it seems pretty much the same.

i agree with all the suggestion esp. Children Of God.....but seeing as you seem to have a flare for experimental/drone weird stuff and the fact that you're listening to Oxbow...i suggest starting with Soundtracks For The Blind....just be sure to play the 'Silver' disc before the 'Copper' disc...
