I think it was just a surprise to me. I personally was not expecting it when I first saw it back in the early 90's. You are right in saying it was not really that explicit. Especially compared to later shows.

i tought the last 30 mins was brillient and the ending was fantastic but it did get dull in parts but i enjoyed it

I think the film you're asking about was called... 'A Conncticat Yankee in the Court of King Arthur' Sorry about the spelling. I think Danny Kay and'or Bing Crosby was in it. It has been made a few times so you might have caught a different version. There again it might have Evil Dead 3 :)

Its was funny in parts but I wouldnt say it was very funny all the way through the film. I defiantly wouldnt buy it on DVD!

The only cinema that I know of is the Cineworld cinema in Renfrew Street, Glasgow. Its last day showing is on Thursday before the imminent release of Spiderman 3.
