Music Banter Hall Of Fame: Nominations Thread

We're you making a Septeraber 11th joke? If so I was comparing it to when Gilbert Godfrey (The comedian) made a joke about not being able to "get a plane that wasn't stopping in New York" shortly after the events. Just an attempt at humor is all. Oh British Humour, gotta love it.

    Albums You're Digging II

One of the few comps out there to eschew an ass licking/commercial mentality regarding Old School Hip Hop. Fantastic compilation. Blame Urban! This is much better than it's reputation suggests. A damn fine Hard Rock/Metal album that is as fun as it is important. Ridiculously brilliant...

    Albums You're Digging II

Carboot Soul and Smokers Delight are far better. Trust me ;) As for me. I forgot how damn good this album this was considering it's not the classic line up: Motorhead-Orgasmatron

    Circa Survive

Pretty much my thoughts. Was hoping they might go in a bit of a new direction, but I guess don't mess with what works. I like the guitarwork at least.

Guitarists tend to be bad at GH, I've not played GH since I learnt the guitar.. It'd be interesting to try after about 3 years of not touching it. :D Rock some Dookie? As in listen to it? Play some of the songs off Dookie on guitar?

"Viva La Vida" of "If I could fly"?

the beginning of the riff does sound very close...but it's probably just a coincidence more than anything. i guarantee coldplay doesn't listen to joe satriani. very few people do.

    Festivals?

Glasto doesn't look that bad, jsut stick to the smaller stages. Reading/leeRAB is a festival I'd probably hate. I may try and sort something for Bestival though, that usually has a good lineup.

US folk singer Joe Purdy. Apparently has had tracks on the TV shows "Lost," "Grey's Anatomy," "House". I have never seen any of them. I am enjoying this one a heck of a lot.

    Favourite lyrics?

You know, I've realized that it's important to have a corabination of what exactly the lyrics are and how they're sung or screamed or whatever.

    The Musicbanter Hall of Fame

THE SMITHS The Smiths were the definitive British indie rock band of the '80s, marking the end of synth-driven new wave and the beginning of the guitar rock that dominated English rock into the '90s. Sonically, the group were indebted to the British Invasion, crafting ringing, melodic...
