    Personally, I think the 848 is a better track bike as you can gas it without worrying about worrying as much as you would a 1198. The 1198 makes a better street bike because of the torque. You don't need to rev it past 6,000rpm to get moving. If cost isn't an issue, I'd go with the 1198...
