Not sure how loyal the anime was to the manga, but I dropped the anime around episode 14, I think I gave it plenty of time, it wasn't serious enough for me, too many jokes during fights and even when there was a touching moment it would be ruined by some durab joke, not my thing.

Ditto on the jealousy. I missed them playing a really intimate venue nearby -- for 15 bucks! -- it was a total bummer. I did get George Clinton tickets in the mail a few days ago though, and that I'm looking forward to.
