i'm pretty much in the same boat. californication was the last disc i bought and it disappointed me. i haven't heard anything since that really made me want to get back into them. freaky styley will always be my disc of choice when it comes to the chili peppers.

are Alcest black metal? all ive heard is the new album which is pretty much shoegaze.. awesome stuff though. Ive never really given it a listen.. i cant stand much death metal though im very into extreme doom.. i do like Celtic Frost... any other recommendations?
