jimmy page also gets an honorable mention. absolutely brilliant guitarist, solo in dazed and confused (I think it was that song) where he played with a violin bow was unbelievable. If there is anyone who could be disputed as hendrix's equal, page would be it.

Hey hey hey, here's a good one. What do Claire Maltese and this dub have in common? They both LAY A LOT OF EGGS!!! So this bird woman gives them a marble and then just...disappears?

The day I listened to 'Reign In Blood' back on it's release in '86 blew me away. That has still never changed. Perfect album in every way.

I have a great one for relaxing symphony music, though it's almost like arabient symphonic music at times, even though it does build to a climax of sorts. The song is titled Fordlandia from Johann Johannsson's most recent album, Fordlandia. You can hear it at his myspace. The other songs are a...

I had this song on my pc somewhere, but I can't find it. The title was literally "Armenian Folk Song." I don't remember the author, but I do remember he was really famous (baroque composer? I forget). The tune was kind of light hearted, sounded like a stringed instrument (guitar maybe?). It...

Haha I didn't say writing catchy songs makes you talented. Let me be more clear. They are talented AND write catchy songs. The songs are put together well. They're "catchy" but not to the point where it's watered down like radio music. Like they actually put some thought into it and wern't...

I liked Fever to Tell a lot as well... the new stuff is still really good but definitely a little more popish. The movie featured a lot of other awesome banRAB like Sonic Youth and Gogol Bordello which was pretty cool. Anyone else get to check it out?

David Bowie - grossly overrated + i find the music to be poor in quality Brian Eno - enjoy several of his albums, esp. music for airports Wire - admirable band, grew up listening to pink flag Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - impacted my musical world more than any other artist The Rolling...

How about Mexican narcocorridos? This is an entire genre of based on heaping praise on real, cold-blooded drug lorRAB and chronicling their criminal exploits. These musicians themselves are often hired by criminals to write songs about them and to act as kind of a mascot.

I think my favourite siong must be Redemption Song by Bob Marley, even the cover by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros was great. It narrowly beats One Week by The Barenaked Ladies.
