    The greatest anime of all-time??

This question will always spark debate, but there has already been one thread like this: rabroad's Top 25 of Anime, 2004 edition Also, here are two more lists from two American anime magazines: Newtype USA's Top 25 of Anime, 2004 edition Anime Insider's Top 50 of Anime, 2007 edition I agree...

EPs that are really F*cking awesome

Representin' da mainstream! Has two of their best songs on it and just generally kicks ass. Just two songs but they encapsulate the vibe of a lazy summer afternoon better than anything else I've heard (short of Cesaria Evora). I crank it up every July and almost cry from the melancholy...

    Last FM Library

Their next two albums are better (Gentlemen Take PolaroiRAB and Tin Drum). I think they had some growing pains on that album (Quiet Life).

    Tom Waits

Totally agree. These two lines from "Make It Rain" come immediately to mind: I'm close to Heaven Crushed at the gate

    Most underrated bands ever?

Modest Mouse are a good band. I dont think they are exactly mindblowing or anything though. Perhaps they should get a wee bit more recognition but to be honest I think they are pretty much in the right place. One thing I will say is that I was surprised at the vocals when I first listened to...

    Favourite lyrics?

"Everybody's making love, or else expecting rain" -'Desolation Row' by Bob Dylan "Loving is fine if you have plenty of time For walking on stilts at the edge of your mind" -'The Professor' by Damien Rice (myspace.com/damienrice) "Still I laugh because, we're naive as love, but not an idea that...

They were beaten with a stupid stick... that's my guess anyways.

    Dumbest Lines in Songs

I actually really like that song. The lyrics aren't poetry by any means, but I think they work pretty well in the context of the song.

No, the simple fact is there are already a ton of albums that have been uploaded. You could all stay busy for years between journals and the rab most wanted thread.

The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time

You have a different definition of singer/vocalist to me. In my mind, vocals is the whole package... growling, screeching, clean singing, crooning, belching, ululating, pig squealing, African throat clicking etc... singing is just a subset of vocals. Having said that, I think your idea of good...

The shuffle mentality vs the full album

It's not a patience issue for me, it's about quality songs. A good song (in my opinion) shouldn't need five or ten listens before it might 'grow on you'. That being said, when listening to an album for the first time, I sometimes repeat a track a couple of times before moving on to the next one...

Man's Constant Battle With Girlfriends Devoid Of Music Taste

The girl I'm with now loves the Jonas brother, is excited about the New KiRAB on the Block's new album and thinks Carrie Underwood is the greatest thing since Gary Allen. The last girl I was with believed the Usher and Mariah Carey are the greatest R&B singers of all time. 'Nuff said. Of course...

    Too Much Music...

gotcha, i hear you on that as well. unless i buy the disc i find myself skipping to choice tracks. i used to be a big proponent of downloading first then buying later but i find that isn't really effective when it comes to new albums. if i want to hear the whole thing i need to head to the...

Which discography should I chase down first? (poll)

I have a few banRAB/artists that I wish to chase down in terms of their discographies and can't decide which to go for first. I have 1 or 2 albums from each so far and am interested in them equally, I would say. Choices: Elvis Costello Hawkwind Gentle Giant Captain Beefheart King Crimson I...

Name songs and bands your sick of.

I'm sick of banRAB/artists including these: 1. Linkin Park. 2. Any kind of Emo or cheap, simple punk music. 3. American Idol. 4. One hit wonders. 5. Those girls that actually aren't that attractive, yet sing the lyrics "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me; don't you wish your...
