David Yates - An Unsung & Great Director

As if he'd be all over the press and DVD talking about what a terrible film they'd made. I think you're maybe barking up the wrong tree. When a film turns out lousy, especially in big franchise cinema, the blame often lies with the producers and the studios backing it. They have influence and...

Which internet DVD rental service is best?

I joined Lovefilm 22/1/07, exactly 2 weeks ago. I've had 8 discs since then. 5 of these discs were HD-DVD discs. They have all played with no problems. I've just checked online and the 9th disc has been posted today so should be with me tomorrow. I'm very happy so far. Ofcourse all this...

    the exorcism of emily rose

I thought it was a truly marvellous film. It did not have to rely on gory special effects because the acting of all concerned was of the highest calibre. It was haunting and disturbing rather than a blood fest, based on true facts which makes it more frightening. Good to see another British...

    Films you hate (merged)

I agree, boring crap. I watched it once when it was on TV and I fell asleep for a little while and then woke up a little bit before the end. I also have to say the Sixth Sense. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. I love the "Halloween" flicks but still waiting for one to scare me!

Yeah a really ****** up film and ending, but I suppose she killed him so it looked like a sex game gone wrong, I thought the 3 of them would of survived aswell. I think this was great imo 8/10.

    Movie soundtracks

The Bodyguard is a good one that sticks out in my mind, I remember my parents brought the soundtrack when I was little. Also - Romeo and Juliet (The Baz Lurman film), Footloose and Bridget Jones Diary (but I've never seen the film) have great soundtracks.

Why are British films so dreary ?

I think this is one of those films that really separates the uk style of movie making from the US. i mean this is billed as a 'feelgood' movie (i saw it described as a heart warming comedy somewhere), yet it has themes of torture, rape, murder, child slavery and the infamous scene eyeball...

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

In the theatrical trailer, Angel Eyes is "The Ugly" and Tuco "The Bad," which is the reverse of their designations in the actual film. This is because the Italian title translated into English is actually The Good, the Ugly, the Bad, not The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and the Italian trailer...
