I have seen nearly 30 episodes. In the case of Gintama I think that is enough to judge it. It has been purely episodic up to that point, so I don't think there would be too much of a change beyond that point. I don't think it's necessarily a bad anime, it just doesn't keep my interest too well...

Have you heard Everything Ecstatic? I liked all of his albums but thought it was the best by far. I can get that sorted for you if you'd like, definitely something you should listen to before you write off the band.
