There is a third party application called Missing Sync that will syncronize Pocket PCs with a Mac. I am not quite sure if iSync will do it or not. Another option is to install Virtual PC on the Mac so you can run Windows applications. I don't have a Mac so I don't know how well the utilities work.

Whoever said it was once much louder was wrong. At least, I've had my G1 since Android 1.0 and it's always been quiet. If it had got any quieter I would have certainly noticed. You probably need to be rooted to run the above app.
