I tried to connect my PS3 to two different displays without HDCP and I couldn't get a picture. I checked the manual and sure enough HDCP is a requirement if you are using HDMI.

Update: After re-installing the firmware again, this time without the mem card still in it seems to at least be stable. It is no longer crashing. However I still can't get a signal. This leads me to believe that it's a hardware problem and not the software/firmware. I got the phone from a...
